BLACK HOUSE ON THE POINT, LAKE OKAREKA, ROTORUA
Once a former fishing lodge, Black House on the Point, was built circa 1940 and is regarded by many as the Best holiday house in New Zealand. The only property remotely comparable to this is the lodge on the other peninsula where they charge $10,600 per night!! for 6 people. Save your money & stay here for a fraction of that price!!
The site includes a private sandy beach, jetty for boats to moor to, diving board and pontoon. Huge lawn areas meticulously managed that look more like golf greens plus park like grounds with native birds in abundance. Plenty of room to land and park your helicopter if you wish to chopper in.
Has 6 huge bedrooms with beds for 15, 2 lounges, big kitchen, decks out to both sides of the peninsula, modern interior, cosy and comfortable furniture. Large wood fire exists in lounge, heating in all rooms plus 8 seater Hot Spring spa to unwind & relax in.
Guest numbers greater than 15 can be accommodated with stretcher beds or by tenting on one of the lawns.
